| Irises are among my favorite flowers; proof of this is the collection of hundreds of photos I have taken over the years including some recent photos taken by my daughter. On my most recent trip to an iris garden I began taking photos looking at the flower from above. Wild Iris is an oil painting of an iris viewed from that perspective. In the painting I have zoomed in so close to the inner part of the flower that the viewer isn’t always originally aware that it is an iris. I have always loved the work of Georgia O’Keefe, many of whose paintings serve as inspiration for me. Original and prints available | |
